Sarah and Kyle, from beginning to end, were such a joy (and vibe) to be around. I only had the pleasure of chatting with Sarah over the phone before meeting her, Kyle, and all of their VIP’s on the wedding day and I have to say, every detail she envisioned really came to life. The Deacon is a special venue nestled just outside of center city Philly that has eccentric and unique appeal. when getting married there, you have to envision a lot of DIY (with ample help from great vendors of course!) and when its done right, it slaps (as the young kids say now ha!)

Sarah’s vision was very ‘valentines day meets Vegas elopement’ - which I mean, COME ON - so loving that theme. The twist is, their wedding day was the end of February but she also wanted to commemorate her birthday the very next day. We discussed a birthday cake, lots of reds and vibrant colors, fun make up, and untraditional aspects to a wedding day.

Listen, I want to mention that there is absolutely nothing wrong with not having a clear vision for your wedding. Everyone’s priorities are not the same as the next person. what could be really important for one person, may not be that important to another and that’s okay! What I will say that is extremely important is to make sure you communicate every expectation, vision, thoughts, ideas with the vendor that will help make those visions come to life - AKA, your photographer! Hearing how Sarah wanted her wedding day to feel, really helped me to the job I needed to. It allowed me to go beyond the traditional cues and push a little creativity. Take a little peak and a small snippet of Sarah (and Kyle’s) birthday weekend, at the Deacon!
